These Quartzite are generally metamorphic rocks, soft to hard in natural and characterized by the presence of cleavages along which they can be easily split into thinner tiles. Slates & Quartzite contains minerals such as quartz, chlorite & mica. Contents of Iron Oxide can be about 5-6%. Different sizes are obtained depending upon natural cracks in the deposits. Uniform thickness is not possible unless these stones are calibrated and honed.

Thickness of these stones varies from 10-20mm to 20-40mm depending upon the size. These stones can be fixed using a binding material such as cement or any other synthetic adhesive. Subsequent maintenance is easy hence they can be used to cover traffic area floors. Sealants and Lacquers are used on the surface to highlight textures and colors of quartzite as also to make them more heavy duty and impervious to dirt. These stones are fast cleaning and fast drying. Being slip resistant they are widely used in and around swimming pools.

NOTE : Since Slates and Stones are natural materials can have color variation, but utmost care will be taken to keep the variation to the minimum.

They simply describe the color of materials or the location of quarries ( under the TRIPS regime ). In case there are captions (i.e. Indian Autumn Slate or Tropical Green Granite of Imperial White Granite etc.) these are the descriptions under which the materials are exported from India by most exporters. In case such captions are registered trademark in any country which we are not aware of, it is not necessary that our Indian product will be the same as the product with a registered trademark.
