These slates are generally metamorphic rocks, soft to hard in
nature and characterized by the presence of cleavages along which
they can be easily split into the thinner tiles. Slates contains
minerals such as quartz, chlorite & mica. Contents of iron
oxide can be about 5-6%. Different sizes are obtained depending
upon natural cracks in the deposits. Uniform thickness is not
possible unless these stones are calibrated and honed.

,SandStone, Quartzite, Limestone or Granite) are not any trademarks
registered by us or anyone else. They simply describe the color
of materials or the location of quarries (under the TRIPS regime).
In case there are captions (i.e. Indian Autumn Slate or tropical
green granite of Imperial White Granite etc.) these are the descriptions
under which the materials are exported from India by most exporters.
In case such captions are registered trademark in any country
which we are not aware of, it is not necessary that our Indian
product will be the same as the product with a registered trademark.
